Francesca Caló, SIRIUS Researcher at Glasgow Caledonian University, will share findings of WP3, policy enablers and barriers in integrating migrants, refugees and asylum seekers in the UK labour market, at the Migration and Mobility Research Network (MMRN) annual conference
MMRN Conference is organised by Edinburgh Napier University and it will be held 9-10 May 2019.
During day 1, researchers will explore the interrelations of structure and agency, space and time in both the ‘traditional’ forms and sites of confinement (ghettos, camps, places of detention, prisons and other places of exception), and within conceived social, political and economic contexts which enable and sustain the processes of being ‘stuck’, the states of ‘stuckness’, and the acts of ‘moving on’ as part of everyday life mobility.
During day 2, researchers will be involved interactive sessions delivered by activists and researchers working and researching with vulnerable and hard-to-reach groups, including people on the move. Three distinct sessions will focus on visual research, participatory research, issues of translation in research, and positionality when researching migration and mobilities.
